Keith Truton came from a mining family – “grandfather, father, brothers, borthers-in-law”. He started at Dearne Valley colliery as a pony driver and worked there for 38 years until it closed in 1991, despite having 15 years of coal reserves. He has worked at the mining museum for 24 years.
