Memories of a long-time Ranger

Roger Armistead was a City of York planner when John Grimshaw first bought the redundant railway line from Riccall to York. In 1995 he took part in the Trail Blazing Ride from Inverness to Dover as it came into York from Helmsley on a sunny Saturday. Since then he has worked in rain and shine as a volunteer Ranger keeping the path free of encroaching vegetation and invasive species.
