There’s Life North of Watford: Mining

This documentary details the impact of the Selby Complex on Yorkshire and the hope it provided for the future of coal mining in the area.

The film explores the integration of miners moving into the villages around the Selby complex, measures taken to reduce the complex’s environmental impact and the National Coal Board’s optimistic plans for the future. Interviews are conducted with the local council, the National Coal Board, the Escrick and Deighton Residents Group as well as miners and their wives.
