Recruiting

We are now recruiting freelance consultants to join our teams for the different aspects of the project. If you are interested you can see a copy of the job advertisement below. We are also looking for volunteers and interns to join these teams – please contact us.

Expressions of Interest by 22nd November

Railway to Greenway is a York Greenways project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. We will be exploring the impact of the industrial revolution on communities between York and Selby as represented by the East Coast Main Line, the Selby Coalfield and the construction of the National Cycle Network.

We are looking for talented and committed individuals to deliver key elements of this project on a freelance basis. For further details on all of these contracts, please email Peter Huxford on the email below.

Contract 1 – Research and Co-ordination

Co-ordinating and supporting the work of groups researching the 4 different aspects of the project; Rail, Coal, Cycling and Nature. (approx. 250 hours of work over an 11 month period)

Key outcome: A comprehensive overview of sources of information on these aspects with a focus on items of interest to a wider public

Contract 2 – Administration and Public Engagement

Assisting the York Greenways Management Team and partner organisations in achieving the goals agreed upon with the Heritage Lottery Fund and organising activities including bike rides and walks to raise awareness and involvement of local communities and interest groups. (approx. 500 hours of work over an 11 month period)

Key outcome: Liaising with partner consultants and organisations to ensure agreed HLF targets, including engagement and training of volunteers and partner volunteer groups, met on  time and within budget.

Contract 3 – Schools Programme

Working to support Year 5 teachers in up to 5 local schools to maximise the benefit of the project to the children’s learning experience (approx. 250 hours work over an 11 month period).

Key outcome: An exciting and imaginative programme of activities leading to a teaching pack as a basis for future years

Expressions of Interest should be submitted to hello@yorkgreenways.org by 22 November 2017. This should include your CV and an outline of how you would deliver the contract or contracts. Please also include relevant experience and skills and availability over the next 12 months and which contract you are tendering for.
