Our Greenway & Greenspace Project started this July – both continuing and expanding on the wildlife education work carried out during the Railway to Greenway Project of 2018. We carried out wildlife workshops in Wheldrake with Thorganby CE School, which culminated in a class field trip to Bank Island, part of the Lower Derwent Valley National Nature reserve.
Many thanks to all the Wheldrake with Thorganby CE School pupils, teachers and helpers who took part, with special thanks to the Natural England staff who shared their knowledge, and to the generous City of York Council’s Wheldrake Ward, who funded this part of the project!
