Notes from Gavin Wright 5/12/1
Although the East Coast Main line trains continued to run until 1983, the local passenger service ended some years earlier, and goods services ended in 1964. The following dates include both station closures and the sequence of closures of signal boxes to enable connection to the new line diversion to the West.
Local passenger services ran between Selby and York with once-a-day service directly to the Rowntrees factory via the Scarborough and Foss Islands branch lines. (search ‘rowntrees’)
