HST 125 high speed train 2540004 from London to Aberdeen crossing Selby swing bridge on Tuesday 19th May 1981 at 1025 – at considerably less than 125mph. The speed restriction was allegedly one reason why British Rail was keen to have the route diverted around Selby.
