Our partnership focusses on the entrance to the traffic free network of paths in and around York from the Askham Bar Park and Ride which gives access from the west of the city and from buses from the city centre. Our aim is to raise its profile particularly to road users entering the city from the west and to make it a more pleasant experience.
Our activities include –
- The verge along the highway
- the path to Askham Bog and Copmanthorpe
- The replica railway signal visible from the road
- The “Welcome to the Solar System Greenway” sign
- Wildflower planting
- Mural on the underpass.
- Litter picking
