Selby Bascule Bridge

Photo attached of the first railway bridge at Selby.  It’s a bascule bridge and was built in 1840 when Selby Railway Station was the first station to be built in Yorkshire.  There’s a plaque near the current railway bridge about this  It was right next to where the station is now and you can see where if you look at the good’s yard doors next to the subway. This bridge was replaced by the present one in 1891.
