Selby: The Saving Grace for Coal

This short documentary made during the 1984/85 Miner’s Strike places the development of the Selby coalfield in the context of pit closures and staunch opposition from the National Union of Mineworkers.

Including a variety of interviews with figures such the National Union of Minerworker’s President Arthur Scargill and the National Coal Board’s manager Ian MacGregor as well as local farmers and miners.
